A codicil is a document in which you can change some of the terms of the original will without having to change the entire will.

Question: my will is 10 years old and one of the people mentioned has died. Must I change the will?
Answer: this is not necessary. You can make an amendment to the existing will by preparing a codicil.
Question: does this require the same formality of signing a will?
Answer: yes. You must have witnesses that are present at the same time who can witness your signature. All formalities must be complied with.
Question: what can I say in a codicil?
Answer: anything that you can normally say in a will provided it doesn't contradict the original will.
